Fancy’s Approach to Data Privacy and Security
At Fancy, protecting your residents’ personal and financial information is a core responsibility. Our commitment to privacy and security is embedded in every layer of the platform. From account creation to automatic cashback, we apply advanced safeguards, maintain strict data standards, and ensure full transparency. Residents can engage confidently, and property teams can promote Fancy without added risk.
Purposeful Data Collection
Fancy collects only the information necessary to operate the platform and deliver rewards. This includes basic identifiers such as name, email address, and ZIP code, which are used to verify eligibility and present relevant offers. For cashback functionality, we capture a secure card reference but never the full card number or personal banking data.
Transaction confirmations are received directly from our partner brands and used only to confirm reward eligibility. All personal data is processed in secure cloud environments, using industry-standard protocols aligned with privacy regulations.
Secure Card Linking and Financial Protection
Fancy uses certified third-party providers to manage all card linking functions. These partners meet the highest global standards for payment data protection. Card details are encrypted during transfer and converted into secure tokens that cannot be used to initiate charges. Fancy never stores full card numbers or any payment credentials.
Residents have full control over their linked cards. They can view and manage these connections from their account at any time, including the option to remove a card instantly.
Transparent Privacy Practices
Fancy complies with the General Data Protection Regulation, giving residents full rights over their personal information. Every user provides clear and informed consent before joining. From their account dashboard, residents can review or update their data, manage privacy preferences, or request full deletion from our system.
Our Privacy Policy is available online and written in clear language to help users understand how their data is collected, used, and protected.
What we do and do not share

We do not share your data with external marketers
We never sell your data or allow it to be used for advertising outside the Fancy platform. We also do not access your bank accounts, track your rent payments, or store unnecessary personal data.

What we do share with property managers (to link you to an in-network property)
To verify eligibility and provide building-specific rewards, we may share only what’s needed with participating property managers—typically your name, building/address/unit, residency or lease status (for example, “active resident”), and your contact email so your account can be matched. We do not share bank details, card numbers, shopping history, or sensitive personal data. Any sharing is limited to in-network properties, covered by agreements, and used solely to confirm eligibility and deliver Fancy benefits, not for unrelated marketing.
Information visible to property teams is always anonymized and presented in aggregate form. No individual behavior or identifying information is exposed.
Support for Property Managers
Fancy is secure and guided, but not fully automated yet. Today, property managers may need to upload a resident roster via CSV exported from a supported PMS, or create resident records manually in the portal. We provide templates, step-by-step guidance, and support; Fancy manages eligibility checks, resident communications, and compliance once the roster is in place.
If your property runs a co-branded promotion or engagement campaign, participation is entirely voluntary. Any tenant data used for reporting is anonymous unless a resident gives specific consent.
