Legal and Compliance Overview: How Fancy Protects Your Residents and Your Team

Fancy was built with privacy, security, and compliance as core foundations. We understand that your residents place their trust in you, and your team relies on technology that is safe, transparent, and fully aligned with legal standards.  This article outlines how Fancy safeguards user data, ensures financial security, and simplifies compliance so you can confidently offer our platform without taking on added risk or responsibility.

Privacy and Data Compliance

Fancy complies fully with global data privacy regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our platform is designed to handle personal data responsibly and transparently. We collect only the information necessary to run the rewards platform and support a seamless user experience. All personal data is stored in secure, GDPR-compliant cloud environments.

Users have complete control over their data. They can access, manage, or delete their personal information at any time through their account settings. We do not sell personal data or share user information with third parties for marketing purposes under any circumstances.

Secure Payments and Card-Linking

The security of financial data is a top priority. All payment-related information is encrypted using bank-grade protocols during transfer and storage. To ensure the highest standards of protection, we work exclusively with PCI DSS Level 1 certified processors. Fancy never stores or has direct access to card details. Card-linking is strictly read-only and cannot be used to initiate charges.

User Agreements and Transparency

Every user who participates in Fancy agrees to our platform’s Terms of Use, Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and any offer-specific terms associated with cashback promotions. These policies are written in clear, accessible language and are reviewed regularly to stay current with legal and operational standards.

The Terms of Use define participation requirements. The Privacy Policy explains how data is handled and protected. The Terms of Use set who can participate and how the service may be used. The Privacy Policy explains how data is collected, used, shared, and protected, and the choices available to you. The Terms & Conditions set the ground rules for rewards and promotions eligibility, how cashback is tracked and paid, any exclusions or limits, and what happens if an order is returned or canceled. Individual offer terms then spell out specifics like minimum spend, eligible merchants, tracking method, and expiration dates, so every promotion is transparent and easy to understand.

Your Role as a Property Manager

Fancy is designed to minimize operational lift for property teams. You are not responsible for collecting tenant data, managing onboarding, or handling any payment or card-related processes. Your role is to introduce Fancy as a tenant benefit. From there, our platform handles user engagement, account setup, rewards tracking, and support.

Any information shared with your team, such as participation rates or invite status, is anonymized and aggregated to protect tenant privacy. You’ll never see personal data or individual transaction details.
