Ready to cash out? Here's everything you need to know about getting your rewards from Fancy into your bank account.
Once you've been stacking cashback in Fancy, you can send it straight to your own bank account. This article covers when your cashback becomes ready to withdraw, how to make it happen in the app, how long it takes to land in your account, and what to do if something seems off.
Before you redeem: Understanding pending vs available cashback.
Not all cashback is ready to withdraw right away. Your rewards move through two stages: pending and available.
Pending cashback shows up after you complete a qualifying action like paying rent, finishing an in-app offer, buying a gift card, or shopping with a partner brand. At this point, banks and partners are still confirming everything, so you can't withdraw it yet.
Available cashback is money that's cleared all the checks and is ready for you to withdraw. Once partners confirm your transaction and the review window passes (covering things like refunds or chargebacks), your reward moves to your available balance.
If you're waiting on a recent purchase or rent payment, it's totally normal for it to hang out in pending for a bit before you can cash it out.
How to redeem cashback to your bank account:
Redeeming is straightforward once you hit the minimum balance. Here's the play-by-play:
Step 1 – Open your Fancy rewards:
- Sign in to the Fancy app
- Tap Rewards from the home screen to see your cashback summary
You'll see your available balance, any pending rewards, and your recent activity.
Step 2 – Check you meet the minimum:
You need at least $40 in available cashback to redeem. If you're not quite there yet, keep earning through rent payments and partner offers, then come back when you've hit the threshold.
Step 3 – Start a withdrawal:
- In the Rewards section, tap Redeem or Withdraw
If you haven't linked a bank account yet, the app will walk you through a secure connection powered by Plaid. You'll pick your bank, sign in through Plaid's interface, and confirm your details. Already have a bank linked? Just choose which account you want your cashback sent to.
Step 4 – Review and confirm:
- Choose how much you want to withdraw (up to your full available balance)
- Review the amount and destination account (like "Checking ••••1234")
- Confirm the transfer
After you submit, you can track your withdrawal in your rewards or transaction history. You'll see updates like Pending, Completed, or Failed, so you always know where things stand.
How long does it take to receive my cashback?
Once you confirm a withdrawal, Fancy sends your money via standard ACH transfer. You can expect it to hit your account in about 1–3 business days.
Keep in mind: transfers don't process on weekends or bank holidays. If you request a withdrawal late Friday or before a holiday, it won't start moving until the next business day.
You can track your withdrawal status in the app. When it shows Completed, that means Fancy has sent the funds. Your bank might just need a little extra time to post it to your statement.
If a transfer fails, the status will update accordingly and the amount usually returns to your Fancy balance. Double-check your bank details and try again, or reach out to support if the issue continues.
Why is my cashback still pending?
Pending cashback is normal and doesn't mean something's wrong. It's just the time needed for partners and banks to confirm purchases and make sure nothing's been refunded, cancelled, or reversed.
Common reasons your cashback might be pending:
- Recent purchases or partner offers often have longer validation windows (sometimes several days or even weeks)
- Transactions that get refunded, partially refunded, or disputed may reduce or remove the pending cashback before it becomes available
- Fraud and verification checks protect both renters and partners by flagging unusual activity
If you see a reward pending longer than the timeframe shown in the app or in specific offer terms, that's a good time to contact support so they can check what's going on.

The basics:
- You need at least $40 in available cashback to withdraw
- Your balance combines all earning sources: rent cashback, gift cards, payment-linked offers, and online shopping (once each reward clears validation)
- You can withdraw your full available amount or part of it
Security: Bank connections and payouts run through Plaid and Fancy's payment partners. Fancy never stores your bank login details. Plaid provides secure, tokenized access for transfers. All payment data is encrypted and managed with strict security standards.
When to contact support:
Most redemptions go smoothly, but here's when you should reach out:
- Your withdrawal shows Completed but it's been more than 3 business days and the money still hasn't appeared in your bank account
- A reward has been pending way longer than the timeframe shown in the app or offer terms
- You see a withdrawal on your account that you don't recognize
